Telltale Games, the studio behind video games The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us, is teaming up with HBO to come up with a Game of Thrones-inspired video game series expected to be out in 2014.



The news was announced on Saturday during Spike TV's “Video Game Awards." Telltale Games CEO Dan Connors said during the announcement that, "We'll be taking advantage of all the fiction to make something great. We're just really getting into it right now and thinking about characters — who has the most at stake, who has the biggest impact on the world."

The company’s previous titles include games based on properties including "Back to the Future," "Jurassic Park," "CSI" and "Wallace & Gromit." The independent publisher was founded in 2004.

Watch the video trailer for the forthcoming series which indicates the first title will be coming out in 2014.
