Kobe Bryant is expected to be out of the game for approximately six weeks after hyper-extending his knee during Tuesday’s 96-92 win against the Grizzlies.

Kobe fell after backing Tony Allen down in to the post. "I just hyper-extended it. I tend to hyper-extend my knees every now and then." Kobe said on why doing the crucial play.

The 15-time-All-Star underwent Magnetic Resonance Imaging exam on Thursday. "Results of the MRI show that Bryant has a fracture of the lateral tibial plateau of his knee," the Lakers said in a statement. "He is expected to be out approximately six weeks."

"That's too bad, you hate it for Kobe. He's worked so hard to get back. But he'll be back. He'll be back in six weeks. He's got to weather the storm to get back. We're going to play hard. We have enough guys and enough talent. We'll be fine." Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni told reporters during their practice at the team’s El Segundo training facility.

It can be recalled that Bryant stepped out of the court eight months ago due to his torn left Achilles’ tendon.

Kidd was fined $50,000 by the NBA on Thursday for intentionally spilling his cup of soda to gain more time in a home game against the Lakers on Wednesday, the league announced Thursday night.

Here’s what happened:

At the end of the Wednesday night game between the Nets and the Los Angeles Lakers, Kidd found his team trailing near the end of regulation. Out of timeouts, Kidd wanted time for his assistant coach to draw up one last play.

Holding a plastic cup with 8.3 seconds left in regulation, Kidd was caught on video mouthing to point guard Tyshawn Taylor to “hit me.” Taylor then slightly lowered his shoulder into Kidd, who dropped the soda on the court in front of the Nets bench, clearly acting surprised upon contact in a bit of apparent acting. The mess had to be cleaned up, serving as a timeout for the Nets.

The Los Angeles Lakers big man has pledged to donate $1,000 for every point he scores against the Golden State Warriors.

Here's what Gasol said, courtesy of CrowdRise.com:

Children are suffering in the Philippines. Typhoon Haiyan—the year's most powerful tropical storm—is the latest natural disaster to strike a country already reeling from monsoon flooding and a massive earthquake. These children desperately need shelter, clean water, medicine and nutrition.
I am helping UNICEF raise money for their efforts on the ground...I am pledging $1,000 for every point I score at the Lakers game on Friday (November 22nd) to The U.S. Fund for UNICEF. Will you help too? Make a donation now (by clicking donate to this fundraiser) OR join me by pledging $1, $5, $10, $20, or however much you can, for every point that I score Friday night. If you join me in pledging per point, please send me a tweet to let me know. Together we can help make a difference for the children of the Philippines! Your generosity will help UNICEF provide access to lifesaving care and support to millions of children in the Philippines.
Thanks!

Gasol, who plays center/forward, scored 24 points in the game, bringing in a donation of $24,000. The money will be donated to the US Fund for the UNICEF.

Manny Pacquiao and Brandon Rios have made weight for their WBO welterweight fight in Macau on Sunday.

Weighing in at the unusual time of 7.30 a.m. Saturday to accommodate U.S. TV, Pacquiao was at 145 pounds while Rios was 146.5.

"My goal was 145 and I feel strong, so there is nothing to worry about," Pacquiao said. "I have been doing this since I was 23 years old, I'm hungry." Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach said his fighter was "a pound more than I thought he would be" but on track to enter the ring at 149.

Rios said his making of the weight proved Roach wrong. "This message goes out to Freddie Roach who said I'm a bum, I'm a fat loser and I can never make weight — guess what, I made weight, I feel great," Rios said. "When you doubt me you make me stronger. (They) are worried, I'm not worried, I feel confident."
