Homeowners of Dasmarinas Village in Makati City fired Right Eight Security Agency directly responsible for the incident happened involving the City’s Mayor Junjun Binay and the village’s security procedures.

The letter sent by Dasmarinas Village Association Inc. (DVA) President Jay Pantango states that effective January 19, the Right Eight Security Agency will be replaced by the First Eagle Security Agency. According to the homeowners, the replacement of the said security firm is due to the homeowners’ loss of confidence to the firm regarding its handling of the November 30, 2013 incident involving Philippine’s Vice-President Jejomar Bonay's son together with his group.
It can be recalled that the Right Eight Security Agency was not able to make a stand for its security guards who implemented the security measures in the village by not allowing Binay's group to pass the gated and secured community. Instead, the agency made a public apology to Binay regarding the incident.
DVA President Pantangco further said in the letter that, “Right Eight Security committed unauthorized and inaccurate representation of DVA to the media in matters pertaining to the Banyan gate incident. Right Eight management cited inaccurate policies involving VIPs. Our existing policy covers the President and the Vice-President of the Philippines. On a case-to-case basis, exemptions are granted, provided that ample time is given to DVA.”
November 30, 2013 Banyan Road incident
The Dasmarinas village guards refused to allow Binay's convoy to pass the Banyan Road gate following the village’s security measure of barring all vehicles from using the gate beyond 10 p.m.. Vehicles have to be diverted to open gates, including one just around 400 meters away from the Banyan Road gate.
With this policy, Binay had to call for police and his personal security bringing out their firearms. According to news, the guards were later "invited" by the Makati police, but denied they were arrested. Police also claimed they had to verify the firearms belonging to the security guards. Binay's spokesman Joey Salgado told DZMM that the situation became worse when the security guards on-duty had to call for back-up.
DVA President Pantangco had to defend the security guards. "Dasmariñas Village is a private subdivision," he said. "DVA stands by the actions of our security guards, who in performing their duty, upheld DVA's existing policy and procedure during the incident. The DVA board is still fully committed to continue to uphold our policies for the security and safety of our residents," Pantangco added.
Moreover, the homeowners' association has commended the security guards for a job well done by strictly implementing the village security measures. Pantangco further added that the guards involved in the incident will be absorbed by the new security firm for them to continue serving the village.
