Paul Walker Death Porsche's been sued before over deadly carrera GT

Paul Walker, according to TMZ, is only one of the riders of a Porsche Carrera GT and to have allegedly experienced mechanical malfunction. In 2005, Porsche was sued over a crash involving the same vehicle model making the company paid a huge amount for settlement.

The lawsuit was filed against everyone involved in the crash by the family of the two passengers who were killed while driving a 2005 Carrera GT in a California race event. At over 100 MPH, the car hit a wall while trying to avoid another car in the race. And it won $4.5 million of which $350,000 was paid by Porsche.

In the sworn testimony of the attorney for the victims, the Porsche Carrera GT as confirmed from a number of Porsche expert that there is a flaw on the car’s major design. The expensive race car is not equipped with Porsche Stability Management System or the PSMS. As required by law, PSMS uses a computer to correct the car if the rear end loses control.

In the lawsuit, Porsche's denied the liability while proving that the car fully met federal safety standards at the time. But to avoid further litigation proceedings, the company has to pay to settle the case.

Going back to Walker’s case, it is not clear though if Roger Rodas' Carrera GT already had the PSMS. Though there’s no information yet whether Paul’s family files the same case while the same Porsche’s car model is involved in this tragic accident.
