Known for being family-oriented, Filipinos tend to celebrate every occasion with glee and excitement. Unfortunately, not every family is able to do that, most especially those with members working in far places such as the Overseas Filipino Workers and even those who are on duty doing 24/7 work.
And now that Christmas is just around the corner, these families can’t help but feel sad. The only thing that they can wish the most is to be with their loved-ones for the special day. This goes the same for the relative who is across the miles.
That’s why this video commercial of a fast food chain in the Philippines, Jollibee, created a buzz over those who can really relate to the said situation. It has shown how lucky those people who can celebrate Christmas together with their entire family.
The video is about a taxi driver who has a daughter working in the Middle East. He is undeniably sad that they can’t celebrate Christmas together, again for the second time.
“Siguro kung ako papipiliin, mas gugustuhin ko sama-sama na kami. ‘Yon na siguro ang masasabi kong pinakamasayang Christmas.” (If I were to choose, I prefer for us to be together. I think that’s what I can say is the happiest Christmas.), said the taxi driver.

In the video, he goes to Jollibee to eat. But just before he gives his order at the crew, the TV monitor shows his daughter in Dubai, who tells him that she misses and loves him so much. He was so surprised and happy that he has tears of joy.
The commercial ends with the driver happily eating his late dinner while talking to his daughter over Skype.
