It’s been three days that a team of American doctors already done 100 surgeries in Tanauan, Leyte using just flashlight for lighting.
NBC News reported that the said US team came from the Mammoth Medical Missions which was supposed to leave the US for a medical mission in Mexico but opted to divert to the Philippines upon hearing the tragedy. The team is composed of American civilian doctors, nurses, and members of the Mammoth Medical Missions.

It’s been reported that the doctors are doing the surgeries with limited antibiotics and other medicines. A gauze was cut into pieces, desks were transformed into examining tables. One surgeon was quoted saying “It's like war…I’ve never been in a war but this is what I imagine it's like."
The doctors believe they may have to perform more medical procedures in the coming days as people become desperate for food and water. They also expect much more trauma to come in over the next few days as a result of the devastating incident.
