However, Miley Cyrus starred the show at the EMA by lighting up a joint on stage in a nod to Amsterdam's lax attitude on drug use. Cyrus had earlier been reported with sneak photo while having fun in one of the Dutch city's best-known coffee shops where soft core drugs are on the menu. She did have fun. Miley Cyrus on the other hand got the Best Video award for "Wrecking Ball."
Going back to Katy Perry, watch the video below as the 2013 MTV European Music Awards Best Female Singer showcased a dramatic performance of her song "Unconditionally".
Other top celebrities bested the evening including Justin Timberlake and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis who went in with the most nominations on the men's side. Eminem undoubtedly highlighted the evening. The rapper took home a "Global Icon" prize for lifetime achievement along with best hip-hop honors.
