Ian Somerhalder of the Vampire Diaries tweet out his support for the victims of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines.

"My heart is weeping right now" the actor posted on his twitter with more than 4 million followers, and even added, "To all of you in the Philippines we're coming to help". "The destruction you are enduring has the world with you!"

Somerhalder was in the Philippines last year, he has been in Manila and in El Nido, Palawan, where his photo shoot for local clothing brand was held.

He is also known for being an active environmentalist and founder of the Ian Somerhalder Foundation which “aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.”
